SecondBrain Terms of Service
These Terms of Service govern your use of the SecondBrain mobile application and related services. By creating an account, signing in, or using SecondBrain, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. The service
SecondBrain is a personal memory, notes, AI assistance, reminders, and planning service. Features may change over time as we improve the app, address safety or security concerns, or respond to platform requirements.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 13 years old to use SecondBrain. You are responsible for providing accurate account information, protecting access to your account, and activity performed through your account. You may sign in using supported Apple, Google, or email authentication methods.
3. Your content
You retain ownership of the notes, memories, images, voice input, and other content you submit to SecondBrain. You give Shtnegear the limited license needed to host, process, synchronize, display, and transmit that content solely to operate and improve the service, provide requested features, maintain security, and comply with law. Our handling of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy.
4. AI features
AI features may produce incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable suggestions. Review AI-generated text and recommendations before relying on them. SecondBrain is not a substitute for professional medical, legal, financial, or other expert advice, and it should not be used for emergencies or safety-critical decisions.
5. Google Calendar and other third-party services
If you connect Google Calendar, you authorize SecondBrain to use the Google permissions you approve to show schedule context and perform calendar actions you request. You can disconnect Google Calendar or revoke access at any time. Your use of Google services is also subject to Google's terms and policies. App-store, cloud, AI, authentication, and other third-party services may have their own terms that apply to their components.
6. Subscriptions and payments
Some SecondBrain features may require a subscription. Purchases made through the App Store are billed and managed by Apple under Apple's applicable terms. Subscriptions may renew automatically unless canceled through your Apple account before the renewal period, and refunds are handled under Apple's policies. We do not receive your payment-card details.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse SecondBrain, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorized access, bypass usage limits, upload malicious code, infringe another person's rights, or use the service in violation of applicable law. Do not use SecondBrain to store or process information where a failure, disclosure, or delay could reasonably cause serious harm.
8. Intellectual property
SecondBrain, including its software, design, branding, and service materials, is owned by Shtnegear or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms give you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service for its intended purpose.
9. Availability and changes
We work to keep SecondBrain available, but the service may occasionally be unavailable for maintenance, updates, provider outages, or circumstances outside our control. We may add, remove, or change features. We may also update these Terms; continued use after an update takes effect means you accept the revised Terms.
10. Suspension and termination
You may stop using SecondBrain at any time and may delete your account from Settings. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these Terms, create a security or legal risk, or if continued operation of an account is not reasonably possible. Account deletion does not undo obligations that arose before termination.
11. Disclaimers
To the extent permitted by law, SecondBrain is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure against every threat, or suitable for every purpose. You are responsible for keeping backups of content that is important to you.
12. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Shtnegear will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or opportunities arising from your use of or inability to use SecondBrain. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited.
